The beauty industry is one of the most creative, inspiring spaces to be part of. It’s full of artists, entrepreneurs, and people who genuinely care about making others feel confident. But if we’re honest, it can also feel incredibly competitive.
Social media has amplified that feeling. Every day we see someone else’s perfectly blended blonde, flawless extension install, or fully booked schedule. It’s easy to fall into the trap of comparison or to feel like there’s only room for a few people to succeed.
But the truth is: the beauty industry becomes stronger when we build community instead of competition.
And lately, that’s something I’ve been thinking a lot about.
When I first started growing in this industry, I thought success meant protecting everything—your techniques, your ideas, even your clients. Salons thought they owned clients, stylists thought they owned clients. There was this unspoken belief that sharing too much meant losing your edge or losing your client.
But the more experienced I’ve become, the more I’ve realized something important:
The stylists who truly elevate the industry are the ones who collaborate.
When we share ideas, support each other, and celebrate each other’s growth, everyone benefits. Techniques improve faster. Creativity expands. And clients receive a better overall experience.
There is more than enough room for all of us.

One of the most powerful things about connecting with other stylists is how much it pushes you to grow.
When you’re around people who are passionate about their craft, you naturally start asking better questions:
How are you creating that blend?
What made you choose that tone?
How are you approaching consultations differently?
How are you taking content?
How do you grow your business?
Those conversations spark innovation.
Instead of feeling isolated behind the chair, you start realizing that the industry is actually full of people who are figuring it out together.
And that kind of environment creates better artists.
The beauty industry is physically and emotionally demanding. Long days on your feet, managing client expectations, running a business, and constantly evolving with trends can be exhausting.
Having a community changes that experience.
It gives you people who understand the challenges. People you can celebrate wins with. People who remind you why you started when things feel overwhelming.
It turns a career into something much more sustainable.
I truly believe the future of the beauty industry is going to be defined by collaboration.
The next generation of stylists isn’t just building clientele—they’re building networks, partnerships, and communities that lift everyone up.
And when that happens, the entire industry becomes more elevated.
More creative.
More supportive.
More inspiring.
As I continue to grow in this industry especially focusing on luxury colour and extension work I’ve been thinking about the kind of stylist I want to be.
Not just behind the chair, but within the industry itself.
I want to be someone who contributes to building a stronger community. Someone who shares knowledge, supports other artists, and creates space for collaboration.
Because at the end of the day, success in this industry isn’t just about how many clients you have or how perfect your blends are.
It’s about the impact you leave on the people around you.
And the beauty industry is always better when we grow together.
