If you know me or have ever been in my chair, you know I love to travel and probably have my next vacation planned! As a hairstylist, I’m just as committed to keeping my hair healthy on vacation as I am at home. That’s why I’m so intentional with what I bring with me.
I’ve seen it so many times before and I’m just as guilty of it myself--most people get their hair done as vacation prep only to compromise it in the sun and salt water a few days in. If that sounds familiar, don’t worry, you’re not alone.
The good news? A few simple steps and packing the right essentials can help keep your hair looking its best. Here are my favourite tips and products I’d recommend!
1. Prep Before You Go
Hydration is everything. A gloss, treatment, or even just a good trim before you leave helps your hair handle sun, chlorine, and salt way better. Think of it as giving your hair a head start.
2. Protect Like You Mean It
UV protection isn’t just for your skin. A lightweight UV spray or protective oil creates a barrier against sun damage and helps prevent that dry, brittle feeling.

Tiny change, big impact. Silk scrunchies or a claw clip help reduce breakage. Perfect for throwing your hair up after a beach day.
