People often think a hair appointment is just about leaving with fresh hair. And while I love helping my clients feel confident, I think one of the most special parts of this job has nothing to do with the hair itself.
It’s the relationship we build.
As stylists, we get to know people in such a unique way. We celebrate the exciting milestones—engagements, weddings, new jobs, babies, new homes—but we’re also there through the hard seasons too. Over time, appointments become more than just appointments. They become a space where you can catch up, vent, laugh, or simply take a few hours for yourself.
One of the things I value most is trust.
Trust means knowing I’ll always be honest about what’s best for your hair, even if it’s not exactly what you came in expecting. It also means you can be honest with me about your hair history, your routine, and your goals. The best results happen when we’re working together.
I also love the friendships that naturally grow. Some appointments are full of conversation, while others are quiet—and both are completely okay. I never want anyone to feel like they have to be a certain way in my chair. I just want you to feel comfortable enough to be yourself.
More than anything, I want my clients to know they’re genuinely cared for. It’s remembering the little things you told me at your last appointment, asking how your vacation was, celebrating your wins, and checking in after a big transformation. Those moments matter just as much to me as creating beautiful hair.
At the end of the day, I hope you leave loving your hair. But I also hope you leave feeling heard, cared for, and excited to come back—not just because of the results, but because of the experience.
To me, that’s what being a hairstylist is really about.
